The Zodiac Loach (Mesonoemacheilus triangularis), also known as the Batik Loach or Triangular Loach, is a beautifully patterned freshwater fish native to fast-flowing rivers in India. It is prized for its unique markings, active behavior, and ability to control algae and biofilm in aquariums.

  • Lifespan: 5-8 years with proper care
  • Temperament: Peaceful but territorial towards its own kind
  • Swimming Level: Bottom-dweller

Tank Requirements:

  • Minimum Tank Size: 20 gallons for a single, 30+ gallons for a group
  • Water Parameters:
    • Temperature: 72-78°F (22-26°C)

    • Frozen/live foods (bloodworms, brine shrimp)

Tankmates:
